It takes effort to cram a one-hour job into three and finely tuned skills to turn it into a full-day event. Itโ€™s the one thing I feel weโ€™re truly gifted at.
This week we were particularly on fire. What was supposed to be a simple job of going up the mast to swap out the radar dome turned into a full-blown wildlife rescue and rehabilitation mission.
Turns out, you never know what youโ€™re going to find up there.
Weโ€™re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now weโ€™re on a sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesnโ€™t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild adventures and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
Weโ€™re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

That old radar is the company engineering team's wet dream of life-cycle data. It will be stripped down to its components and every bit of wear, tear, and component degradation will be compared against their MTBF expectations.

(I have a kids book series about bats ) because I had a bat that I saved and helped out of my house at gently as I could- I named the bat Bart (and I have pics of the actual bat on my site- when I set him free he bat wiggled to the side of my deck and dangled over the step on my deck. It was hilarious, and CUTE!

They are adorable - and probably make wonderful pets, but let nature be nature :D If the bat couldn't fly, then someone would have to take it in.. of course it would be spoilt like a cat, getting fresh fruit all the time. For some reason, I see boats and squirrels in my mind. Great Video - I can understand that your safe at the top of the mask, but the height is always scary (it's natural to fear falling)

Love the care you gave the little bat. Once had one land and hang on the reefing points of my main sail about two hundred miles off shore in the Gulf of Maine. Blown out in a storm. Little guy spent two days in the cabin on the veggie hammock. Then left us the night we made landfall in Marble head MA. Bats are very cool. Not sure if they really like to be petted. Ours seemed to tolerate the attention.

Relocating a nest doesnโ€™t work and once we disturbed the nest by undoing the stack pack, the parents abandon the nest. The damage is done, hence the sadness. Itโ€™s a boat headed to sea, not a tree.
