BACK TO BOAT LIFE (our daily routine on the sea)
Now that the excitement (chaos) of splashing the boat and immediately preparing for cyclones has passed, we’re slowly getting back to our familiar routines of living a life on the sea.

WHO ARE WE?
We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild #adventures and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

First vid of 2021, thanks for being a part of it with us! In this crazy, uncertain, and movement restricted world, it’s important to take delight and pleasure in our daily lives as much as the adventures. For those looking for information/vids on our solar and off-grid setup, you will find that here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/living-off-grid-rv-sailboat Also, wanted to take a moment to answer a couple of the most common questions. 🤗 ❔ “I’m curious how long were you able to stay underwater before you left the islands? And now, how long are you able to stay under?” 🗨2 min was our average before leaving the boat. Now, we’re out of practice and 1:15 is our best. Recipe for the smoothie 🍨: Shredded coconut, banana, papaya, pineapple, frozen coconut cream, ginger, cinnamon, cacao powder, water. ❔“Why aren’t you collecting rainwater” 🗨We are! That’s what the buckets on the transom are for. 😎 ❔ “Try JB weld on the cracked stanchion” 🗨the steel stick we mentioned is a JB weld product

What is the name of that epic purple and teal blue funnel with detachable strainer?! It made several appearances in this epi but I can't find anything like it on Amazon or even Google image search :( Does it have a brand name?

OMG. You set an alarm on a boat,, moored,, in tonga,, ????
Gone with the Wynns
If you're smart you set an anchor alarm any time you are moored or at anchor. It's not a "burglar" alarm - it's an app that constantly checks your GPS location and lets you know if the boat moves outside a set area (which would mean you're drifting or have pulled anchor). Curious Minion
Oooo waiting on a Nikki cookbook 🌊⛅️
Hello Wynn/s, It is wonderfu l
hi
Love the sound of the rain on the water and your boat 🌦 🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑 Not boring at all!!
Love watching your normal day! So much beauty! Plus you make me giggle!
Hey Guys, why dont you set a up a NAS on the boat to backup all your video to the cloud (Amazon glacial storage - cheapest backup) when you get free fast wifi? I use a Synology www.synology.com/en-us/solution/what_is_nas and Attach a UPS in the even power issue. Your NAS storage may very depending on your usage, but random hard drives is a terrible idea. If you need a advice or further information please Im and Il be happy to help ;-)

So wise... @8:15... yes... yes... yes... pan up to... GARMIN
Switch to SSDs, the copying will go much faster.
Thank you for sharing your path to Wynn happiness! ...great video of your “back in the groove” banging boat life checklist.... good..tunes, drone shots, WiFi, sun downers, lite food, laughter, snorkeling, and sun shine together in the South Pacific. 😎 ... can we get a link to the Wynn induction and blender recipe cook book?
Do you still have an air conditioner? I remember a video where you installed one.
Those smoothies look awesome! Great to see you both back on the boat.
This was awesome you didn't even have to try to be funny and y'all are I thought it was interesting and I enjoyed it God bless from my family to yours thank you
Great videos guys
Are you two still in Tonga?
I just found your show it is nice! Thank you..I have been watching the Vagabond are you both familiar with their video also ? I Subscribed to your channel..Gary
I'm watching you editing on the G14 on my G14. :)
You two are truly a beautiful couple. Love the short hair on you Nikki! Also, a small hose clamp will help hold that stanchion base together. Happy to ship something to you if you need some local help. Thanks so much for feeding my "Boat Life" addiction. Finally, hello from Mansfield, Texas. :-)
Thanks for sharing a day in your boat life..... I really enjoyed it.....
Wynn’s, beer for dinner? What it is? Enjoyed the video. Down there for sure
Your Stanchion base plates cannot be welded, I build aluminum boats and have had a lot of experience with issues like this. Aluminum is very reactive when it is in contact with other metals including stainless steel or chrome plated metals. To be safe you must replace them as soon as possible. A temporary fix might be using a hose clamp to re-enforce them for a short time. In heavy seas if someone were to fall against the stanchion it could break. Sorry for the bad news however if I were in your place, I would replace them as soon as possible and I do understand how difficult it may be to get replacement parts. If you were near me I could build replacement LOL, just be safe.
it was not a different world in 2020. It was the same world jiust not behind the stage curtain.
How are the hospital's and what do you do if you have a medical emergency ?
Couple of tubes of JB Weld and premix epoxy would be a life saver...
Thanks for sharing! Do you have a video on your rain collection system? I was wondering what the set up is, how much it collects, how you store it & how long it lasts :)

They don't normally collect rainwater. There are 2 vids on the blog: one on how they obtain water, the other on how they purify it. Click on the "water" tab here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/living-off-grid-rv-sailboat Curious Minion
You have succeeded in making even the mundane chores of life interesting with the great spirit of love and co-operation. Greeting challenges with an attitude of gratitude. Many are pulling for you from the ethers. The simple nourishing vegan fare, each of you assisting, shows maturity on many levels. Solar power with the aids technology allows furthers the interest.
Looks like a good life to me
Enjoying your video thanks.

No but they were staying with Sailing Zatara for awhile in Fiji and they have 3 kids aboard. That's probably what you're thinking? Curious Minion
What was in that yummy shake 😋
Beautiful Heniochus fish during the dive. Not a bad looking couple of Wynn fish after. You 2 have a great life :)
Try using JB Weld fr your stanchion base. It comes in a tube two part mixture. I used it to fixed a golf club and it hasn’t broke yet after two years
Thank you for sharing your really unique and amazing journey!
I do not understand your language, but the way of living and expressing yourself towards everyday life is really beautiful, therefore, it is not necessary to know the language, thank you for being so natural and showing your life that makes us happy from a distance
Love your you tube. Love the boat life, even though I've never done it, now I am too old to try. Lol. God bless you two, and take care.
Love to watch you enjoy each other. You work so well together. I just hope you know Jesus. The true best thing in life. God bless you & keep you safe.

Ha! We wish....
Another great video production captured off the grid. Interesting!
I want your life, even this daily-routine life.
I got that reference in the bloopers! Inside the computer!
For that railing anchor point you could use the screw type hose clamps just until you can get a more permanent fix. It should hold it securely with maybe two of them tightened around it and keep the fractures from growing. They as you probably already know like to rust and anytime you have two different metals in contact with each other, especially in salt air, it really promotes it. As long as you clean the surface and even maybe replaced the clamps once every couple months it should work. I'm not sure how hard they are to come by where you are but they're widely used around the world, especially around boats, equipment or vehicles and shouldn't be to expensive. Hope that idea helps. Just found the channel and am enjoying the videos, thank you.
How long can both of you stay underwater and how long did it take to get to that level? Good visit, Thanks for Sharing.
Gone with the Wynns
Month ago
It ranges, but on a good day we can do 1:30 seconds underwater at 50-60 feet. With practice we should be able to get back to the 2 min.
So what you're saying is, when you quit work and retire to the sea...you still have to work. LOL
In Okinawa we called it Typhoon season.

Excellent day!!! 🐟🌧️☀️
optionally - if you can find a buyer for your cat, crew to US or fly, save some $ RV for awhile - find another boat and insure it as from US

Thank you, I was just wondering what an average day would be like!
Hey. The files ARE in the computer. Greetings from Toronto, Canada. It’s Feb 3rd. and freezing. Love the show! Take care and keep havin fun.
Have a small machine shop turn a replacement for the Pulpit "bracket" from billet. Not cheap but reasonable for an able machinist and it will be much stronger than the original casting.
Gone with the Wynns

There aren’t machinist here. There isn’t a welder either.
Appreciate you guys a lot! If you do not mind the suggestion: Pick up a few soft bristle brass brushes and use them with the baking soda for MUCH quicker , great results on the chrome or nickel polishing. You will be amazed and brass will not scratch good chrome. Ciao!
Solar makes off grid so much easier.
Hi to you both, you know what? You guys are great ! We have missed you for awhile. We/ I am back, Doug from Vegas. 😎😎👍😉
"Never underestimate the power of baking soda". 😄 👍 👋 👋
Will you two adopt me?😂😂😂
Stanchion fix; Go to the local hardware store in the plumbing section and buy a Stainless steel hose clamp. It may also help to buy a rubber plumbing or toilet gasket to use under the clamp in order to secure it in place. www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-5-in-Stainless-Steel-Hose-Clamp-6772595/202309382

@Gone with the Wynns Thank you so much. I'm having doubts between the mini 2 and mavic air 2 for my first drone.... There are pros and cons to each for my particular needs. Would you ever consider doing a little comparison, since they're sponsors? The doubt has kept me from buying for quite a while (thankfully, because the mini has improved greatly). Unfortunately, I have to use a gift card. If you have affiliate links with the big retailer, I'll gladly use it.

You're not, it was in this vid: www.gonewiththewynns.com/scammed-anchor-chain But they've also added it to the post on photo gear & you can see all their gear and there are links & discount codes too! That's here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/photo-video-gear Don't forget, shopping through any GWTW product links won't cost you anything extra but it will through a few pennies into the sailing kitty! So when you're ready to buy, click over from here. Curious Minion
I loved this video!!!!!!!!
On the Stanchion Base, have you thought of drilling a hole through the tube receptacle across the cracked part and pinning it with a stainless steel 1/4 inch bolt and securing it with a nut? Also McMaster Carr Catalog would be a great tool.
14:35 Put JB weld after cleaning of course then a stainless pipe clamp round it. That should make it at least stable. Till u can find a new mount

Welcome aboard!
How about a hose clamp or two on the broken pushpit base
For the Perimeter Rail Stanchion, Try to find two(2) Stainless Steel Hose Clamps to match the outside diameter of the cast Stanchion. Add them to the base to cover the crack. This will get you to shore, till get a replacement part. Good Luck.
