WHO ARE WE?
We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild #adventures and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

How many Ukulele do you need and what is the cost we would love to help!
I love my little Bolt electric bike. I think it is going to be a popular unit for boaters. I've had mine over a year now and have a rack on the back and can attach a basket to the front.
Twinkle little star 🌟 row row the boat Mary had a little lamb. Home on the range.
Good Kiwi Cheese
Learn to play an instrument- it will be your friend for life.
Have to be the most cleanness yachties I ever seen, ropes are always hung, not left lying around, always neatly looped, and cleaning of the deck when opportunity arises eg rain, nice to see you taking care, kudos team.
Love it!
AFAIK You are showing off your skills, and as such it should be covered under fair use. As long as you don’t put an actual clip of the artist doing the song, it should be fine.
Thank you guys!
Ehh I remember my elementary school librarian as a total bitch idc if she’s reading his Bc sometimes that facts just hurt
Have enjoyed your adventures . Suggest purchase: a collapsible wagon to gather groceries, fuel and H2O; collapsible water containers. Both easy to store. Purchase funnels for pouring fuel, etc., also, stainless steel nuts with nylon inserts used for vibration such as aircraft fixtures. Thanks for sharing your adventures. TTFN, Dale Lipp PE
We've enjoyed your videos. Can you tell me what the brand of your electric bikes are and where you bought them? I'm no longer able to walk for any length of time. My husband thought these little bikes would be a great solution. Thanks.

Whenever you want additional info, click over to the corresponding blog post. In this case, Nikki discusses the good & bad of the little e-bikes, and gives a bigger/better alternative that they'd love to have if they had the space on the boat. All with links for your shopping pleasure! And don't forget that shopping through the links provided won't cost you anything extra but it will throw a few pennies into the sailing kitty. www.gonewiththewynns.com/learning-ukulele-remote-island Curious Minion
Luv this Makenzie Ives
If you know a few chords on the Ukulele than you can write your own songs with your own lyrics. Its not hard. You already know how to play. Write us a song
I love living through all you amazing travel vloggers. I get to see beautiful people and far away exotic lands and live your adventures. Thank you. Now ive got to get to work in my own dismal life. Lol
Ukuleles are awesome!
Nice to see its not only us in Scotland that is getting poured on, with gale force winds topping 75MPH and rain by several clouds worth, dumping on us but then we do not have the beauty you guys have and run cars in place of electric bikes.
What a great video and such a great thing to do for the children!☺️ Thank you ❤️
Just got a ukulele!
Hey Jason and Nikki! I just wanted to say that I am LOVING your channel. I lived in Vava'u for 5 years and I really miss it there. It's so cool to see it again through your eyes. (Not sure if you've explored the ''secret beach'' on the east side of Vava'u lahi, out beyond Ta'anea, but it'd be great to see some footage from out that way). Your videos are really well done, I especially liked the one you did recently about my sister Lisa's resort on Fetoko Island. Keep up the good work!!
Awesome! I love this! I also learned how to play ukulele at my local library! I live in a very small town in north central Washington state with a population of around 1,200 people. When they started free classes there was a great interest so they did a second set of classes and I did that one too. Then Covid hit. No more gatherings. No more music. Library closed. It’s open again but with limited services and times. I’m grateful for that! But I hope someday soon we can play ukulele again. Good job, you guys! You made some kids very happy 😊 🤩
The Ukele guy looks like an alternate version of Alpacino😂😂
Long time subscriber. I love this video. I love seeing the local areas, the beautiful people, the scenery, the market...”everyday life” videos are my favorite type of videos. And to give back to the community is absolutely amazing.
Hey Jason and Nikki, love your amazing videos and follow your journey for years. What kind of electric bikes are you use? Got the band name to look them up . Thx and always safe travels. Cheers from Canada

Happy Bday is free of copywrite ;)
So just to refresh my memory I looked it up and since the instrument is so popular in Hawaii I went with their version. According to “Live Ukulele” an article by Brad Bordessa (updated 20 Oct 20) the Hawaiian pronunciation is actually “ oo’ koolele.” (his phonetic breakdown). To be honest I was unable to find a spelling in his article that shows where the glottal stop actually goes. If I am incorrect please feel free to straighten me out. I would greatly appreciate it. And just to be sure you’re really on top of things he further clarifies that if using the Hawaiian pronunciation you would need to say ‘an’ u’ kulele. If you swing in the English direction you can stick with ‘a’ ukulele. Whew! So there’s your tropics lesson for the week, month, year and probably more than you wanted to know! Hope you get your financial, equipment, repair, travel issues straightened out. I’ll be praying for you that things will work out, you can continue on your journeys, making great videos and bringing your audience loads of escape and pleasure even if it is only for roughly a half hour. That’s a little less than some of the stupid stuff you see on tv (excluding commercials) which aren’t nearly as fun, funny, at times nail biting and interesting. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) and Jason “say cheeeeese!”
Enjoyed this learned a lot
You guys are awesome!!!! Thank you for thinking of others and wanting to spread the joy of music and learning music to those less fortunate than yourselves!!! Love you guys! Love your channel and hope you are well!🧡
I have 2 brothers who work at Dean Guitars here in the States and would love to donate a few guitars for the more advanced and beginner students.... PM on FB
One island playing music from another thousands of miles away. Go Bob Marley from Jamaica.
For some serious uke inspiration, look for some Jake Shimabukuro vids on YT. The guy is absolutely incredible.
Genuine good folks traveling and doing good things.
I think SpaceX's leadership is at a whole new level. Not only do you have Elon Musk as one of the most technical CEOs out there. You have Gwynne Shotwell as a fantastic as SpaceX President and COO. As VP of Business development she signed up NASA. Then as COO, she made it work. She is an engineer by training, not a business major. By many people she is given is much credit for Spacex's success as Elon Musk.
What about sailing to American Samoa for boat repairs?
You'll love Ireland 🇮🇪!!
Not sure when I'll wash up in Tonga but eventually if things go right with my boat. Slow process. I had an idea for a vehicle that's basically two of those bikes or two sets of insides anyway. I want to look into buying just motors, wheels and aluminum stock from McMaster Carr or some place and making a take apart car. Estentially two bikes that fasten together to from a kind of very light weight vehicle something like the old NASA moon buggies I guess only smaller. I figure one side of the frame and two wheels fasten to each side of the dingy , the cross members for the frame / seats form the seats of the dingy as well. Maybe a little cargo basket somewhere front or back or maybe both. It wouldn't go very fast of course but it would go, throw in a solar panel to charge it up in the parking lot and you'd have a pretty cool rover to run around on. I'm interested in the Nazca desert and wondering what it would take to rove around out there with some food and water for a day or so maybe. Not sure what the terrain is actually like up close though. I know about as much as NASA did when they made their moon buggies I guess.
Hi, first of all, thanks for your videos, well done. What is the brand / model of your electric bikes? Thanks

I was surprised to see mold on the deck despite being in direct sunlight. How lone before it develops?
You both are incredibly awesome
Inspiring! Your video also highlights the advantage of staying in one place for awhile, even if because of COVID.
bob marley foundation should be paying you guys for advertising his music i had to go look up three little birds
Hey Nikki given the challenge with finding fresh cheese have you thought about making your own? I follow Gavin Weber out of Australia for cheese making recipes. He also sells all the Cheese making supplies through his www.littlegreenworkshop.com.au. I don’t know if he ships to Tonga but it’s worth looking into it. Following his lead you can make your own fresh mozzarella in a couple hours out of regular milk.

@Gone with the Wynns As long as you can find milk that hasn't been heat pasteurized you can make cheese from it. a good homogenized whole milk can make any soft or semi-hard cheese with the addition of Calcium chloride.

I asked why they didn't make their own but they can't buy fresh milk either. They'd have to find someone with a cow... Curious Minion
Congrats you guys you are in the 3 spot of the most popular youtube sailling channel.
Special times with Special friends possible by open heart's thanks for the share
Nikki & Jason you are the best sailing couple on USplan🙏 Your Vlogs are more like short documentaries. Hope you start showing more stories like these. Interactions with the locals.
Yeh.. We call some things In NZ and Australia funny things. Our slang is a language of its own. But Mainland make bloody great cheese. I'm positive you loved it. Maybe should have got 6 blocks.
If they so be.

Great video you two & it's wonderful that you've found a way to give back to the community in a manner that could make a real difference. Perhaps you could pin a comment that explains to the less USplan savvy viewer how to make a one-time donation to the cause? Stay safe!

Such a nice edit. We need some electric bikes on our boat but they are so difficult to get our part of the world
OMgosh, you two have once again warmed our hearts with your efforts and caring for the communities you are living in. Music brings so many people together and it brings us a sense of happiness and it's also very spiritual. Let's hope Bob Marley will let you finally play "Don't Worry ABout a thing" and share it with us! Thanks for another awesome episode! Cheers!
You guys are awesome reminds me of washing my shower while I shower👊
🌈
All the rain looks like Houston. 😀
Thanks for your time.
You eat the same type of cheese I do Mainland (nickname of NZ south island) Tasty. It is cheddar and what we called "strong" or "mature" in Canada when I lived there 40 yrs ago. When you get to NZ you can get 1kg blocks(size of a brick).
UKES!!
BTW, Ukulele kits are available. I'd be glad to help source them.
I am also learning ukulele while cruising, and recommend a USplan channel by Cynthia Lin. She has some great beginner videos.
Check out Taimane she’s a beautiful ukulele player
Another great video. I was watching another sailing USplan channel ( they are now in Australia from Fuji) and what a difference. Your videos are about the people you meet and country your are in. The other Channel is all about me me me.
Best thing was no masked zombies in the store. Beautiful.
Will you set up a go fund me? Or are you just donating based on earnings from the video? I will watch a lot of adds if I need to! I love seeing a community inspired to action by a teacher sharing what they love.

the Vava'u public library could probably use some donations.
currently "stuck". not a bad place to be stuck
You must learn to play the oo ku lele, check out Jake Shimabukuro!
At the library - it's so strange and wonderful to see a group of people gathered.

OMG! He could be Al Pacino's older brother. Love those little electric scooters,
By the time you're finished with the Ukulele fund it will be an Symphony Orchestra you'll have ... On a similar note, How is Pip the cat doing ? Stay Safe & Fair Winds from Ireland !!
The video was perfect timing for us. Since the arctic blast has hit TX, frozen pipes and no power you took us away.

I'm glad you can help the library. I'm guessing you are already aware of this, but be careful with your generous hearts. I certainly know nothing about what life is like in your present corner of the world, but its often very easy for outsiders who have different values and where with all to, with the best intentions, make a splash then in a relative short time, push off and be gone on the wind. I wonder if anybody sells ukulele kits so the kits take some ownership in the instrument?
Great video and what a wonderful thing to do!!
Amazing Nikki and Jason, I can see the library getting lots of ukuleles
